Hi, I'm Steph.

The Grey Ghost Pursuit began three years ago with a bike crash.

My injuries forced me to step away from riding and created space to focus on something I’d been dreaming about for years: building a grassroots bike race that draws inspiration from some of the most memorable rides and races I’ve experienced, particularly the Iditarod Trail Invitational.

Those events taught me that challenge has a way of revealing who we are. It exposes our strengths, our limitations, and the stories we tell ourselves. It gives us an opportunity to grow, not just as athletes, but as people.

My crash was one of those challenges. The Grey Ghost Pursuit is my attempt to create that same opportunity for others: a challenging, rewarding, and unforgettable adventure through some of the best gravel riding in the West Kootenays.

About Me

When I’m not organizing Grey Ghost Pursuit, I work as a professional development coach.

Much of my work explores the same questions that draw people to endurance sports: What are you capable of? How do you hold yourself back? What are you discovering about yourself?

I work primarily with women who have spent years meeting expectations, fulfilling responsibilities, and doing what was expected of them. I help them reconnect with themselves, hear their own voice more clearly, trust themselves more deeply, and make choices that feel aligned with who they are and what matters most.

We acknowledge and respect that we live, work, and play on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Sinixt People  and Syilx People of the Okanagan Nation and honour all other Indigenous people who walked on and cared for these lands before us and continue to do so. We also support and add our voices to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s Calls to Actions in order to redress the legacy of residential schools and advance the process of Canadian reconciliation.
